THE CHALLENGE

AdventHealth needed to communicate their “Creation Life” wellness principles through a medium that would resonate with modern, mobile-first audiences. The requirement was massive: a 200-episode family-driven drama series exploring complex themes like purpose, forgiveness, and balance. Producing 200 narrative episodes using traditional set builds and location shoots would be prohibitively expensive and logistically impossible. Furthermore, every episode needed to be optimized for the vertical (9:16) format and 1 minute long each, requiring a completely different approach to cinematic framing and pacing.

OUR APPROACH

To meet this monumental challenge, Big Puddle engineered a hybrid production workflow that reimagined how high-volume narrative content is created. We shot our cast entirely on controlled soundstages, while our VFX and AI teams utilized advanced generative tools to craft rich, immersive backgrounds. This allowed us to transport characters from serene natural landscapes to dynamic urban settings without ever leaving the studio. Every aspect of production, from scripting to final edit, was specifically optimized for fast-scrolling mobile consumption.

Visual style: The Journey lives inside a painting. Every episode was built around a signature paint-effect visual style.

$700,000 SAVED

The original scope called for on-location shoots across multiple sites, a budget that would have cost five times more. We redesigned the entire production model. Shooting on a green screen studio with real actors and AI-generated backgrounds eliminated travel, location fees, and logistical overhead. The set itself was built modularly: one physical set with swappable panels that transformed into 10 distinct environments. The result was $700,000 in savings for the client (without sacrificing an inch of visual quality).

Why Brands Are Turning to Micro Drama

Corporate micro drama is one of the fastest-growing content formats in brand marketing. Short-form serialized storytelling (built around real characters, emotional arcs, and brand values) is outperforming traditional corporate video across engagement, retention, and recall metrics. Brands are investing in episodic content that audiences actually want to watch. The Journey is proof that this model works at scale: 200+ episodes, consistent visual identity, and a production cost that made the long-term commitment viable. If your brand has a story worth telling across multiple episodes, we know how to build that world.
